This versatile poncho, with its picot hem detail suits any little one from newborn to approx 10 years, creating a useful layer on a cool day or extra layer on cold days. The roll neck and side buttons mean it is easy to get on and off. Knitted flat using a slip stitch design, this means no fiddly swapping yarns in the middle of a row as each row is worked in a single colour.

The sample shown is Sirdar Supersoft, knitted on 5mm (US8) needles, but as the fitting is loose and prefect gauge is not critical any yarn knitting to the same gauge will work perfectly well.
