From May Worldwide Delivery is coming back along with a new product range.

Now mail services around the world seem to have settled back down, I will be brining back the option to purchase and or have your goods delivered worldwide. if you purchase more than one time, the system will only charge postage on the one item with the highest postage cost.

I’m also brining in an option to pay postage on UK items, these are currently post free, but as we all know that means the postage is built into the price. This is not fair on folks who want to order more than one item.

All post will still be via Tracked Royal Mail

New Product Range Coming Soon ….

Having ethically sources some amazing stock of relatively small pieces of off cut fabrics, laces and decorations, I’ve begun to develop a new product range. These will include surface tidy bags, in several sizes and plant pot covers. These will also be a special range of Bride and Wedding Day tidies, as many brides now get ready at the venue with their bridesmaids and other special ladies attending the event, the tidies will ensure you all have everything in the right place when you need it to help keep the calm atmosphere at this and memorable event.

Wow March is here already and nearly spring !

It’s been a busy few month here at Dizzy Tyke Designs, with yoga studios updating their kit for my firm bolster cushions and washable covers. Also, lots of folk thinking positivity towards spring when they can get out and about, so are spending time revisiting the decor or the camper vans, caravans, holiday cottages and 4×4’s.

The use of bolsters in yoga really seems to be taking off. they can be soft of offer a little support and comfort or like this order nice and firm to give maximum support and benefit from moves.

The removable covers on studio bolsters offer the ability to keep things clean and hygienic.

After a busy run up to Christmas and catching up on the custom and personalised design orders. Then I took a couple of weeks out to visit a friend, taking in the vibrant city of Seattle then a drive over to Montana for some skiing at Snowbowl and winter walking in Rattlesnake Canyon and around Como Lake in the Bitterroot Valley.

The art work and olympic sculpture park round Seattle is very inspiring for designs, so expect to see some new product lines from Dizzy Tyke Designs later in the spring.

Lastly an outing to CHSI at NEC Birmingham, a day out with the Etsy Worcestershire team. Great place for new ideas and catching up with other Etsy Sellers.

I’m now back fully refreshed and ready for a busy spring. Here some ideas of my recent work….

This recent order shows how you can request custom detail to suit our needs. not only did the customer want a certain model of 4×4, the dog was family member that needed including. With the vehicle currently away for refurb and we managed to source some of the new upholstery fabric to include an accent strip down the front. Lastly an upgrade the the cushion backs so they were in the same fabric as the front.

Finding a thoughtful and personalised gift for someone who has developed dementia can be difficult.

An alternative to the Twiddle Muff, Twiddle Rugs are individually designed. Items to touch move are incorporated with different textured fabrics. All designed a personal themes that can help trigger memories. This design was for a motor enthusiast , with a love of engineering and gardening.

The finished rugs are approx 18″x18″.

Lunch out at a local interior designs showroom, has meant I’ve sourced some terrific sample fabric books. So if you want that Bike or Vehicle in a specific colour drop me a line. I’m sure we can find something to match.

Time to think about knitting Winter Woolies .….

Now Christmas is over it’s time to get the knitting needles out and get ready for Winter.

Adventure Memory Cushion.….

Are you heading off on an adventure, it could be walking, cycling or a road trip. This new adventure memory cushion is a great way to remember the key moments.
The place names or locations should mean something to you and not be generic well known places map.

Knitting Patterns and more ….

As we get into the longer evenings here in the UK, its time to break out some new designs to add to you WIP (work in progress) collection, you can never have too many knitting projects on the go.

This versatile kerchief pattern has a range of options included. It can include beads, bobbles or any combination.

Knitted in double knit yarn, you can even use oddments from you scraps box as in the bottom right.

The Lulsley pattern is a great for any baby or toddlers , to get them in the annual Christmas jumper competition without them overheating.

This vest knitted in double knit yarn, is quick and easy to follow. When you download this pattern you will find 2 options, the original pattern which has imperial measurements and a metric version.

The range of cushions avayalbe is constantly evolving and changing. Evolving because customers request designs that once developed are prefect to join the selection and changing because the materials available for cushions and appliqué is never constant. This is because I source my fabrics from excess stock and end of line, meaning that its always new fabric but often repurposed.

Gifts ideas for Christmas …..

New and what’s coming over the next few weeks….

The web site now is the option to have vehicle cushions personalised with your vehicle registration or vehicle name ( up to 8 letters). This will be on a proportionality sized plate added to the cushion before dispatch, there will be an extra £5.00 charge. Select your cushion place it in the basket then select the option to add plate and in the comments state what you would like putting on it.

With lockdown from Covid-19 starting to relax, people are thinking of getting those special family event caught up on so I’ll be looking at how my products can enhance your special Christening, Wedding, Birthday or family get together. My special wedding themed cushions include being able to have a combination of names added. if you really want to push the boat out why not choose the option of working with the designer and we can look to change the design colours to mirror the wedding theme.

Autumn is just round the corner, wedding planning is back and Christmas is on the horizon.

Attention to detail

People ask why I edge my appliqué with a zig-zag stitch rather than the quicker and cheaper to produce E stitch that other craft producers use. I have several reasons the main 2 being…..

  • It protects edges from fraying and increases the life of the cushion.
  • The design jumping out at you rather than bending in.

Whats New ….
